Meadows disappear, drainage canals level out with the meadows, roads are cut, bridges threatened, farms and villages are sealed off, the tourist industry suffers as scared foreigners are scared to (fly) sail to Iceland and we can't get our fresh fish out - fresh - and we don't get the things we need from abroad.
While there is water getting into the crater we get the ash - when there is no water or insignificant water getting in we get lava. And believe you me - if you think this (from a satellite) and this is a problem look at this and this and this (evacuation area) and this...
We get wonderful pictures - even if they are only made from a webcam (see below - made at lunchtime April 17th 2010)!
And you have to see these - go through their collection - its staggering!
But hey thats life. Lets face it. We may be able to genetically analyse all sorts of things, and alter them and clone and what not. We may be able to control nature up to a point but there you are. When we get down to the nitty gritty - nature rules and we should respect that. After all - we have to...see here and here
Efsta myndin er hálf djöfulleg. Alveg ótrúlega mögnuð!
