Silver

There is a program on RUV called Egil´s silver. The name refers to an old saga - Egil´s Saga (here and here). There you find the story of how the old Egill wanted to share his silver.
From time to time his programmes are very interesting. January 9th 2011 he had an economist who pointed out how politics have interlocked the facets of the economy so that politicans cannot take any serious decisions without ruining someone. Pension funds want free international monetary transfers but firms in debt fear the crash of the króna. Homes in debt want to abolish the index linking of loans and people with savings fear nothing more. So support the pension funds, ruin the firms. Save the homes or kill savings. Or vice versa.

Another very intresting interview was about Norway, the Icelandic meltdown and whether it was the crash of the economies of various stages of liberalism.

I propose (and I have support on this) that the meltdown had nothing to do with politics, economic theories and so on. It had to do with the fact that the Crashpreneurs (English for Hrunkvöðlar) did everything to break whatevere rules they could find. That those who should monitor them feared they did not have political support and that the politicians played along with the criminally minded, conciously or unconciously.
Its vital for us to face that and  move along.
